THE IMPORTANT NOBODY

Hello everyone!! how are you all doing?? Hope Easter has been great for all of you!! tomorrow we are going to Rishikesh, India for a college trip, i should be packing for that but instead i want to write today..write on the most recurring question i answer myself almost everyday, well the question is, HOW DO I GROW MYSELF ?? HOW DO I BECOME BETTER?? I was so obsessed with idea of "growth" and "personality development", i believe it's a phase everyone goes through. I did a lot of things to figure out the answer and i'am still doing it, in that process i learned, the need for growth is parallel to the importance we seek. Friends!! We admit it or not, we all want to be important, how we demand may vary, but the basic need remain the same, Nelson Mandela, Bob Marley, Mother Teresa, Hitler, Leonardo da Vinci,Columbus are all products of the same desire. In this game of 'important you' and 'growth', the desire and willingness is what pushes you forward, it is not the money or your social status, how i realized this has a story.

A couple of days back i was at home, as usual i  was walking with my dad at night after dinner, a rickshawala crossed us, he said 'ramram' to my dad  , a way salute in India, after moving a little ahead of us, he stopped his rickshaw, and stood very humbly, as we live in the restricted area he had got lost and wanted help to figure out the  way to the 'open gate', as we went closer he very humbly asked my dad the way, he confirmed the direction enquiring if its 'left' in english meanwhile i stood there and observed him, he was drenched in sweat, which of course is  an inevitable part of his livelihood however he was dressed neatly in a full sleeve shirt, regular trousers and proper shoes which is not common attire for a rickshawala in India, within two minutes of encounter i knew  he was different from all the rickshawala i have met, from the way he approached to the way he dressed and i learned that he is may be a nobody to the world but he is important to himself, we may be nothing to the world but we are everything to ourselves. It is important to develop and become better , not to show but to grow, so friends "within your heart keep one secret spot where dreams may go" - Louise Driscol
